More London is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The prestigious development is designed to make the most of its iconic location and boasts stunning views across the river.
Townshend were appointed as Landscape Architects for the project and commissioned to develop a unique place with an individual character which had to retain the flexibility to evolve as part of an ever changing city.
Woodscape worked closely with Townshend to design street furniture for an iconic public seating area. They created large seating with a curved design and corkscrew taper effect to nestle amongst glass and planted hedging.
More than half of the site is accessible to the public and includes two large squares, one of which is a similar size to Parliament Square – and an amphitheatre named The Scoop, that has already hosted several large public events, temporary art installations, exhibitions and drama education programmes.
The regeneration of this part of London has created a vibrant and contemporary mixed-use community and there is no doubt that Woodscape’s Naturally Very Durable Hardwood seating will continue to enhance the experience of locals and visitors alike for many decades to come.
