Worth waiting for

“…bring the shelter into the colours of the local landscape”

Timber bus shelters are not as common on our streets as they once were, which made this project extra special. After the existing shelter was damaged, Walberton Parish Council went in search of a company that could replace it with something suitable for the rural location, and bespoke to their specific requirements.

With a need for an overhanging roof design and glass side panelling, protecting not just the waiting local residents but also the information display boards contained inside, this sturdy bus shelter was manufactured around substantial 190mm Oak posts. The addition of a shingle roof in Western Red Cedar really helps bring the shelter into the colours of the local landscape, with reflective strips being added to help keep this new shelter a safely in clear view of the passing traffic.

Steel feet were added for easy installation onto the existing concrete base, and Woodscape arranged for both delivery and install for the easiest possible purchase for the client.

“The end result is something truly unique…”

The end result is something truly unique, manufactured entirely in the UK utilising modern and traditional construction methods and materials, that will stand strong for many years to come. While designing and manufacturing something with this level of bespoke design doesn’t happen overnight, we’re sure you’ll agree that it was really worth waiting for.
