Woodscape is committed to minimising damage to the environment from any of its activities.
The company recognises the damage that can be caused to the worldwide environment by the use of materials that are in short supply or from areas where deforestation is occurring. We will follow best practice using up-to-date information when deciding on the procurement and use of resources.
As such, Woodscape Ltd will endeavour to use resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. Whenever possible, timber and other products will only be bought from reputable suppliers who in turn has an environmental policy.
Similarly, Woodscape Ltd will avoid as far as possible using any animal-based products such as ivory where such use will have a detrimental effect on a particular species.
Consideration will always be given to purchasing recycled paper and other products. Whenever possible suitable waste materials will be separated and sent for recycling when quantities are large enough for this to be viable. This will include paper products and aluminium cans, glass bottles etc.
Our objective is to minimise the environmental impact of our work throughout the life cycle of the work. Namely;
- Procurement of equipment – sustainability – natural replenished stocks.
- Delivery – methods by which products are sent (avoiding high carbon emission methods)
- Installation
- Commissioning, validation and verification
- Operation, maintenance and repair during its life
- The recycling or disposal of materials at the end of their useful life.
This objective is achieved by careful consideration in the choice of plant and equipment, the selection of materials and the use of low carbon energy sources wherever possible to contribute towards a sustainable environment.
We encourage our staff to use electronic data exchange systems whenever possible to reduce paper waste. We manage and operate out own offices to minimise energy consumption and reduce waste.
By setting an example with respect to the environment and to environmental issues such as waste disposal and purchase of new materials, damage to the environment from our activities will be minimised.
